I was born and raised in South Carolina. After graduating from Clemson University I moved to Georgia to begin my teaching career, and later moved to North Carolina where I continued to teach until my retirement in 2014. I returned to my South Carolina roots after retiring from teaching, and now live near Clemson University with my husband, Jack, where I enjoy many of the activities that are offered at the university and surrounding area.
I am a graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Science – Secondary Education. I later received my Masters of Middle School Education from Georgia College, and a Masters in Elementary Education from Winthrop University. I love teaching children, and I taught everything from pre-school (3-year olds) to high school biology. I retired as a fourth grade teacher from the Gaston County, NC schools in 2014.
I am enjoying my retirement now that I have time to travel extensively with my husband in our motor home. I am a die-hard Clemson fan, and take advantage of every opportunity I have to attend all the activities at Clemson University – especially football. Our Clemson Tigers are the NCAA 2016 and 2018 National Football Champions!
My number one hobby is reading. I also love walking and hiking, especially during our outdoor travel adventures. When not sightseeing during our travels, there is nothing I enjoy more than relaxing outdoors with a good book in my hand. I love my family and enjoy every opportunity I have visiting our children and six grandchildren. When I can’t be with them, I like hanging around with my photography “boyfriend,” Jack.
