Our Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH - The "Tiger Bus"

The Birth of our Phaeton “The Tiger Bus”

Since 2007, Anna and I  have tremendously enjoyed our travels by Motorhome.  The enthusiasm we take away from this life experience is often hard for us to put into words for those without the same experience.  After the first two or three years on the road, we knew we had thoroughly embraced the lifestyle, and could hopefully pursue it in the years ahead. After becoming impressed with motorhomes built by Tiffin Motor Homes while attending a Family Motorcoach Association convention in 2010, we both knew there would be another motorhome in our future.  During our summer trip in 2011, Anna and I took a tour of the Tiffin Motorhome plant in Red Bay, Alabama.  We were impressed with the company’s focus of quality, customer service, and customer satisfaction.

We began the process of determining our likes and dislikes of the 2007 Discovery, our first motorhome.  Early in the spring of 2012, we determined that the 2012 Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH would suit both our must haves and our wish list.  Once we were able to strike a deal on a purchase, we quickly moved to sell our Discovery.  Thank the Lord, a wonderful couple from New York purchased our Discovery one day after we listed it for sale on eBay.

In April, 2012, Tiffin invited us to the factory in Red Bay, Alabama to oversee the building of our new motorhome. I was able to be present from the moment the build began until the last sticker and final check was performed and our Phaeton was delivered to the dealer – almost five weeks.   What an experience.  I witnessed a choreography of hundreds of workers and complicated machinery take raw materials and turn them into a sleek, beautiful, and functional home for the road.

You can read more about the specs and amenities pertinent to the motorhome on the page titled “The Tiger Bus.”
